In all, 10 of the 12 Blazers who ran at MSU came away with their best times of the season. Which was indeed impressive, since there were 126 competitiors in the field. Amanda Cronin shaved almost three minutes off her previous best time with a 24:38, while Karli Hauser ran two minutes faster than she ever has this year with a 25:21.

Two other girls took two minutes off their previous best times, as Amanda Goldsborough completed the course in 25:51, and Jen Spann turned in a time of 26:08. Karleigh Cameron was among those who ran a personal best by two minutes with her time of 27:52.

Peyton Swander contributed to the record-breaking as well with a 27:16, which cut two minutes off her fastest time of the season, and put her in the top seven. Emily Richardson registered a personal record, finishing in 27:42. Bernadette Gillespie had a 23:27 for a personal record time and finished 71st. Paige Jones finished the race in 27:53, and Katie Krause ran a great race with a 29:58. The Blazers set nine personal records at the Petoskey Invitational, with the junior and senior girls taking fifth place in a field of 13 teams.

"It's the best the girls have placed at any meet in many, many years," coach Gle said. "I was very excited." Meanwhile, the freshmen and sophomores finished seventh out of 12 teams.

"Over the past two weeks I have been very impressed with the race times," coach Gle said. "They have been running each race with determination, and the result has been very respectable times for them."

Those girls were: Cronin, Gillespie, Hauser, Goldsborough, Spann, Erin Barber, Jones and Kelsey DePeel.

"Krause, Hoose, Kayla Dietrich, Sondra Troup, Sarah Goslyn and Bobbi Sherman are all running with determination and exceeding their potential," coach Gle said.
