Pool play found the Warriors beating Big Rapids Crossroads Academy 25-17 and 25- 10, Manistee Catholic Central 25-15 and 25-8, losing to Big Rapids 20- 25 and 18-25 and defeating Manton 25-8 and 25-3.

"Our girls played real hard,"coach Stremlow said. "What hurt, our told the girls, was we got up 8-0 in the first game and lost. If we would have kept momentum from that first game, we would have been all right. "But, we dug a little hole and had to get out of it."

Helsel was 75 percent serving, with nine aces, nine kills, nine assists and 20 digs. Dani Orr had 18 kills and seven blocks. Both were named to the All- Tournament Team.

"They were a little disappointed, because they wanted to get to the finals. But, as far as the effort, was pleased. There are still little things to work on, but we're headed in the right direction."
