Born on May 12, 1980, in Traverse City, Michigan, he was the son of Alan and Vicki (Disbrow) Hihnala.

Alan married Michelle White on June 24, 2000, in Elk Rapids. He was a journeyman electrician. Alan was a Reiki Master of Healing. He enjoyed wood carving and being outdoors and hiking. He also was an animal lover.

Alan is survived by his parents, Alan and Vicki Hihnala of South Boardman; his wife, Michelle Hihnala of Traverse City; his siblings, Nykie (Daniel) Moyer of Grand Ledge, Michigan, and Chrissy (Dan) Miller of Kalkaska; his nephews, Ben and Eric Moyer of Grand Ledge, and Gage and Ian Miller of Kalkaska; and his brother-in-law, Kevin White of Tennessee.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska with Elder Linda Bridson of the Community Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
