Rotary volunteers could be seen packing chicken into grill baskets and placing them on the long brick charcoal grill. A team of volunteers served food while others prepared take-out orders. "We're really busy (for awhile) then it drops off,Ó said Lorann Siddall, who said about one-third of the orders for the day were sent to the carryout tent at the Kaliseum entrance from M-72. Picnickers enjoyed a visit from the Rotary Chicken, including a reporter who received an accidental peck on the back of her head when Chicken misjudged the size of her beak. Some picnickers were asked how they enjoyed their meal, which included one-half a chicken, beans, potatoes and gravy, and a roll. "Finger lickin' good,"said Cate Mathis. "Very very good,"and "Excellent,"said Bill and Doris Lutteke respectively. "Excellent,"Bob Greene said, noting that his family came from Roscommon to the barbecue.
