"They've offered and I expect to accept," Cairy said from his office last Thursday afternoon.

"It's real enough that we're looking at interims," he said. Cairy has been superintendent of FACS for four years. He will be superintendent of a district that is double the size of FACS.

"It is very close to where my wife (Kim) grew up," Cairy said of Freeland, near Saginaw.

According to Cairy, Fred Joles, former FACS superintendent and Ron Nurnberger, former Bellaire interim superintendent are being considered for the FACS interim superintendent spot.

Cairy said the FACS board of eduction will be holding special meetings to discuss the matter and make their decision. Interviews are scheduled for July 2.

"I'll miss the communities the most," Cairy said. "You won't find a kinder, nicer group of people. They're very giving.

"They have continued to face challenges and continue to support each other," he said.

Cairy said his last day on the FACS job will be July 12. "This is a great place to live and a great place to work," he said. "I will miss it tremendously."
