James was born in Mancelona, August 13, 1927, the son of George and Katherine Rostar) Garlick. He graduated from Mancelona High School in 1945, and entered USAF the same year. In 1953, he began a career with the civil service at Tracy California Army defense depot, where he advanced to lieutenant.

He married Doris Morgan of Sioux City, Iowa, who preceded him in death. A brother of George Jr. and sister Margaret Smith are also deceased.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia and Mary Jo, both of Milwaukee, Wis., and two grand daughters, Cheryl and Angela and great grandchildren Jennifer and Alex.

Brothers Anthony of Chicago and Edward of Bellaire and sisters Catherine of Mancelona and Barbara of Bellaire survive along with many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and no services were held. We have many fond and loving memories of him and he will be missed very much.
