Steve Carl Krellwitz



Steve Carl Krellwitz, 50, of Cedar, Mich., was taken from us suddenly on Tuesday May 8, 2007.

Steve was born on January 1, 1957, in Hancock, Mich., to Arthur and Dolores Krellwitz.ÊHe grew up in Warren but his heart was in the UP.Ê Steve went to college at Michigan Tech and became an Engineer.Ê While attending College he met Bev Killman and they were married on September 21, 1985, in Traverse City, Mich.Ê

Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and his friends.Ê He also enjoyed boating,Êwater skiing and tubing on the lake with his kids and all of their friends.ÊHe formed special bonds with his friends and family and was well respected. He had a personality that befriended almost everyone.ÊSteve was devoted to spending time with his son Cody and daughter Jennifer, he was a wonderful father and a true role model for his two children.Ê

Steve was employed as an engineer at Great Lakes Carbon Treatment Inc. of Kalkaska. He will be sincerely missed by all ofÊhis co-workers andÊthe friends he made through work.

He is survived by his loving wife Beverly Killman; his children Cody and Jennifer; Father, Arthur Krellwitz of Christmas, MI; his two sisters Christine (Kevin) Lopez of Traverse City and Catherine Krellwitz of Warren, MI; sister -in-law's and brother-in-law Katherine (David) Handke of Wisconson and Laura Killman of Copemish, MI.; nieces and nephews; Christopher and Michelle Handke, Melissa and Sara Killman, Justin, Danielle, and Dylan Lopez of Traverse City; and his best friend Todd McCorkle of Traverse City.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Dolores, his grandparents, and his brother-in-law Forrest Killman.

Visitation for Steve took place on Monday May 14, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.ÊFuneral Services were held on Tuesday May 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City.Ê The Pastor Robert Zagore officiated the service.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to The Diabetes Association of Michigan.

The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
