Blazers thump Boyne City baseball



KALKASKA -ÊJohn Kasza and Travis Schuba each had pitching gems for Kalkaska, in its doubleheader sweep over Boyne City Tuesday, May 8.

Kasza pitched a 10-0 victory in the opener, going four innings, allowing just two hits. The Blazers scored in four consecutive innings, while keeping Boyne City scoreless.

They broke out for four runs in the second inning, with Kevin Zattlin driving in a pair of runs. Kasza added an RBI in the inning. In the second game, the Blazers were able to score in the first inning, which ended up being on of the game-winners.

Boyne City broke through for its only run of the doubleheader, in the second inning, but Schuba didn't allow another run in the 12-1 win. He had 11 strikeouts and allowed one hit.
