Stephanie was a senior at Kalkaska High School.Ê She attended the Career Tech Center where she was involved in the visual imaging arts program.Ê Stephanie had been accepted to the Illinois Institute of Arts in Chicago.Ê She loved being with her friends.Ê Stephanie had the best sense of humor and a great laugh.Ê She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Stephanie is survived by her parents, Larry J. Karppinen of Houghton and Joan Underhill of Rapid City; her sister, Laura Sue Karppinen of Kalkaska; her grandparents, John and Betty Underhill of Dallas, Texs and Carol (Greg Lewis) Karppinen of Houghton.

Services for Stephanie were held Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m., at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. Visitation was one hour prior.

Memorials may be given in Stephanie's memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 W. 14th Street, Suite #5, Traverse City, Mich., 49684.
