"Our neighbor, Katherine Nossinger, met us at the mailbox and let us know that the bears were back," Nancy said. "They'd been at her feeder the night before.

"So, we were ready. We had the video camera on the kitchen table."

Nancy said that on the first night, the bears stole the thistle seed feeder that was tied with rope more than six feet high in a tree. The second night, the Taylors captured a half-hour of action on tape.

They both also took some still-shots.

"The mama bear weighed about 350 pounds," Nancy told The Leader last Friday. "The top feeder is about six feet off the ground. We had birdseed in there. They cleaned it out."

Nancy said that the outside light did not bother the bears, but noise did.

"The wind blew the bird feeder - sledding saucers that are on an aluminum pole - and when it rattled, the cub went up a tree and the mama ran."

Nancy said the video shows the bears leaving.

"They walked out the driveway," she said.

The Taylors agreed that it would be good to let people know about the incident. Nancy said that this must be the second year for the baby bear.

"Last year, they didn't show up," Nancy said. "It's definitely wise to respect them," she said. "They're an awesome animal."
