The Warriors started their season, after several postponements due to weather, against Alanson Thursday. They swept the doubleheader, with Alley Garrett pitching both wins.

In the first game, Garrett walked 10 batters, but was picked up by the Forest Area offense. Jess Green had three hits, three stolen bases and scored two runs for the Warriors, Courtney Steile had two hits and a stolen base.

Green had another productive game in the second, with four hits and two RBI. Kayla Helsel had three hits and two RBI for Forest Area.

"We had an excellent first and second game," Forest Area coach Barb Helsel said. "I was pretty nervous, because we had only nine girls travel, but they did their jobs very well."

Friday, it was Inland Lakes doing its job well.

The Warriors lost 17-3 and 11-6 decisions to Inland Lakes.

"In the second game were were a little more competitive," Helsel said. "But overall a frustrating night."

Saturday, the Warriors were bounced quickly at the Kingsley tournament, losing to the host 9-4 in the opener and 11-1 to Kalkaska in the second game.
