Obituaries PUBLISHED: Joseph was born June 9, 1916, in Toledo, OH and married Marie Kunkosky on June 27, 1936, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in River Rouge, Mich. Joe was manager of manufacturing for Eonic Inc., specializing in precision cams. Joe and Marie lived in Rochester Hills until his retirement and then made their winter home in Homasassa Springs, FL in 1981. Together they enjoyed entertaining, golfing, travels and their many friends. Joe was an avid garden club member. His greatest hobby was his scale model trains. In 1999 Joe and Marie moved permanently to their summer home on Finn Lake in Custer Twp. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ursula Nicijewski and his dear wife of 68 years, Marie. He is survived by daughter and son in law Mary Anne and Claude Roux of Mancelona, four grandsons, Stephen (Kama) Roux of Rockwell, TX, David (Shannon) Roux of Garland, TX, Joseph Roux of Quinlan, TX, and Christopher Roux of St. Louis, MO, great granddaughter Angela Roux, great grandson Nathan Roux, and great great grandson Dalton Roux, great step grandchildren, Timothy Sykes and Samantha Sykes. He is also survived by his loving brother Stanley (Mary), and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona and the Knights of Columbus, Kalkaska Council. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 17 with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. A Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona, Father Dale Magoon was Celebrant. Interment was in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
