Duwane Graydon



Duwane L. Graydon, 71, of Kalkaska, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at home. Born on September 14, 1935, in Kalkaska, he was the son of the late Clifton and Violet (Huble) Graydon.

Duwane was a veteran serving our country in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Motors and moved to Kalkaska in 1989. Duwane enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a handy man kind of guy and was a wood craftsman. Duwane was a member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club. He was a very adamant member of the National Rifle Association and the NRA Institute for Legislative Action. Duwane was also a Retired Worker of the United Auto Workers Union Local 326.

Surviving Duwane are his children, Deborah S. (Art) Vergera of Lubbock, TX, Alisa (Timothy) Rodabaugh of Grand Prairie, TX, Roxanna Graydon of Fort Worth, TX and Clifton D. L. (Tracey) Graydon of Clio; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Veona L. Dinnan of Clio, Eroll (Nellie) Graydon of Kalkaska; and his cousin and dear friend, Jim Root of Kalkaska.

He was preceded in death by his sister Colleen Waltrip and his brother Veryl Graydon.

The funeral service was held on Monday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at the Wolfe-OĠNeill Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Kuiper officiating from the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church. Military honors will be provided by the Kalkaska VFW Post 8684 and the Beebe-Sherwood Post 480 of the American Legion. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Wolfe-OĠNeill Funeral Home.
