Coach Dan Soenen and his son Jacob, were a coach-player combination for the Traverse City Pepsi Bantam AA hockey team, that won the state championship with a 4-2 win over Canton, March 10.

Traverse City had a 5-0 record in the championships, giving it an overall record of 58-11-3. It was the BantamÕs sixth tournament win of the season, which extended their season and travel.

Today, they begin competition in the USA Hockey National Championship in Buffalo, New York; and are ranked 10th in the nation going into the nationals.
