Louis Krahl



Louis ÒLouieÓ H. Krahl, 88, of Rapid City, died March 6, 2007, only seven days after his brother, Herb died. He died peacefully in the presence of his caregivers at Christwood Hills Residential Home.

Louis was born in Eerie, Pa., on Feb. 4, 1919, to Eugene and Regina Krahl, who had immigrated from Austria and Germany a few years earlier. Louis and his brother, Herb, were electricians in the Detroit area for several years and retired to the family home on Elk Lake. Later, he moved to the Rapid City area.

Louie and Herb spent their entire lives together working and enjoying nature and animals. Louie enjoyed working and worked as a farm hand into his mid 80Õs. He lived a simple and humble life. For the past two years, Louie suffered from dementia and was cared for by his devoted brother, Herb.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Regina; and his brothers, Herb and Eugene, and is survived by many friends, neighbors and acquaintances. His presence will be sadly missed by those that knew him.

Cremation has taken place and Louie will be buried with his family at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Detroit.
