Obituaries PUBLISHED: She followed her daughter, Diane Childs and her husband, Gale, both of whom she dearly missed. Her beloved brother Ronald Bohnet, led the way by just eight days. Elinor loved life. She enjoyed watching and naming the birds who came to her feeders, a good joke, great conversations with friends at the Moose Lodge in Kalkaska, her summers at the cottage on the Big Manistee River and the friends she knew there, a good game of Euchre with her family and reading the daily obits to make sure she wasn't in there yet. Elinor was born, raised and lived her entire life in Lansing, when she wasn't up-north or accompanying her husband on business trips. She graduated from Central High School and worked as a bookkeeper for her father's store; Bohnet Electric Company. Surviving are: her Daughter, Lisa Gorman, Granddaughters, Christina (Philip) Massuch and Colleen (Steven) Egleston, Great Grandson, Alexander Jared Egleston, Sisters-In-Law, Evelyn "Wody"Bohnet and Stella Millard, Brothers-In-Law, George Adams and Mark Adams, Nephews, Patrick (Kathy Fosnight) Bohnet, Michael (Vicki) Bohnet and Steven (David Gregware) Bohnet. Extra special extended family: Noel and Cindy Bartley and girls and Tom and Pat Biergans. The family would like to thank Elinor's neighbors, Wayne, Heidi & Brian and Fred & Jane for their assistance and care over the last two years. Special thanks goes to Eaton Community Hospice House for their wonderful compassion and care as Elinor's spirit left her body. A memorial visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Memorials and tributes can be made to the Eaton County Humane Society or the Eaton Community Hospice House in Elinor's name. |
