Dr. Jim Powers presented the award to Neuman and LaRowe for the Kalkaska Conservation District's 19 years of restoration and repairs on the Upper Manistee River.

"With funds from Mason - Griffith Chapter and other Trout Unlimited groups across Michigan, the Kalkaska Conservation District continues to repair erosion sites, public access sites and tree falls. Additionally, the district has helped with numerous road crossings and has installed hundreds of in-stream fish structures. For their many years of service to the river, the Mason-Griffith Chapter congratulates the Kalkaska Conservation District," Powers said.

The district will be back on the river this summer putting in new boat launch slides at two sites on the river and repairing other public access points.
