The first matchup against the Bobcats presented some problems for the Blazers as they started out the meet in a large hole after having numerous voids.Ê Despite the setback, they wrestled tough in the face of competition.Ê With two matches to go in the faceoff, the Blazers needed wins in both to walk away victorious.Ê They could only produce one, however, and the final score ended in the favor of the Bobcats, 36-37.Ê Andrew Adams, David Chalker, Eric Nixon, Matt Pare, Abram Lantzer and Dean Amos all tallied wins.

The second team the Blazers had to face, the Stags, took advantage of their unfavorable position.Ê As previously noted, the Blazers were already plagued with issues on voids, and the Stags didnÕt make it any easier.Ê Lantzer, Damien Donathan and Dean Amos were the only Blazers to post wins in the losing effort.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, the Blazers were off to Petoskey to grapple in a five team tournament.Ê The first team they faced was Mancelona, and they won decisively, 36-14.Ê Next up was Charlevoix, and they inflicted nearly the same fate on the hapless Rayders in a 39-18 drubbing.Ê Wins from Donathan, Lantzer, Amos, Wes McFadden, Chalker, Nixon and Matt Pare all picked up wins in the effort.

The third team the Blazers faced ended up being an excruciatingly close affair, but Frankfort prevailed, 25-24.Ê Lantzer, Donathan, Amos and Chalker put up points, but it wasnÕt enough to stave the team from the loss.Ê Next up on the docket was Kingsley and the Stags proved too much for the unprepared Blazers, as the combination of voids and untimely defeats paved the road for a 14-53 Blazer defeat.Ê Petoskey was much of the same for the Blazers as they were unable post more than 21 points in the 21-54 loss.Ê Lantzer, Chalker, and Pare scored points (including PareÕs miraculous 19 second pin) but it was nowhere near enough to overcome the odds.Ê The BlazersÕ final place was fourth, a direct result of unfilled weight classes and overmatched bouts.
