Blazers reaches quarterfinals

KALKASKA Ñ The 16-team Suttons Bay Invititational brought a lot of tough competition for the Kalkaska Varsity Volleyball team, but for this tourney they were up to the challenge.

Kalkaska went 1-1 in morning pool play with a win over TC Christian and a loss to host Suttons Bay. Morning All-Tourney honors went to Kara Ponstein for the Blazers.

Power Pool play brought a split with the reigning class D champions of Leland with scores of 18-21, 21-17, wins over Glen Lake 21-12 and 21-17 and a split with St.Francis 17-21 and 21-18.
