Janice Williams



Janice ÒJanÓ Williams, 61, of South Boardman, passed away on Feb. 5, 2007, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on March 8, 1945, in Elkhart, Ind., the daughter of David and Marian (Weger) Martin. Jan married Jim Williams on Dec. 24, 1963, in Jamestown, Ind.

Jan is survived by her husband of 43 years; daughter Mary J. (Rob) Williams of Frankfort; grandchildren, Tara (Matt) McKenzie of Beulah, Brooke Williams and Brandy Williams of Jackson, D.J. Thomas and Lacy Thomas ofÊ Frankfort; greatgrandson, Andrew McKenzie.

She was preceded in death by her children, Janiece Marie Williams, James David Williams, and Scot Lee Williams; her parents; and her brothers, David Wilbur Martin Jr. and Keith Edward Martin.

Jan graduated in 1963 from Concord High in Dunlap, Ind. She and Jim moved to South Boardman from Elkhart, Ind. in 1982. While living in Elkhart, Jan helped Jim run several Shell gas stations. She is a former Orange Township Treasurer. For 30 years Jan raised and showed Morgan horses. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs, Sheyenne and Reba.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Wolfe-OÕNeill Funeral Home in Kalkaska, with Reverend Robert Stark officiating. Memorials may be given in JanÕs memory to the American Cancer Society.
