RAPID CITY Ñ Jackie Gort of Rapid City was the big winner of the Arctic Cat snowmobile donated by Rental Express in Indian River and given away in a contest sponsored by radio station WKHQ 106 FM.

ÒItÕs never too cold to ride,Ó Gort said on Thursday, Jan. 25, when temperatures were hovering around 10 degrees above zero.

Originally billed as an Arctic Cat F-7, Gort chose to Òtrade downÓ to a used Ô03 Arctic Cat ZL 550.

ÒThe F-7 is built for speed,Ó she said. ÒIÕm just not that kind of rider. When I told the guys at Rental Express what kind of a rider I was they were great and helped me pick this one.Ó

She also wanted reverse.

ÒIt was a definite requirement,Ó she said. ÒI have to be able to back up.Ó

Gort also got a helmet and bibs when she traded down her prize.

ÒWe listen to ÔKHQ at work,Ó she said. ÒYou had to be caller six in order to register to win the sled. I won tickets to the Avalanche Bay water park in Boyne City for being the sixth caller.Ó

Then, her name was chosen by WKHQ from the pool of registrants and she won the snowmobile.

Gort said she only has won one other thing in her life: movie tickets to see Talladega Lights.

ÒI only had to go online to win those,Ó she said.
