Obituaries PUBLISHED: Dick was born in Lansing on January 21, 1933, to the late Oral and Georgia (VanPatten) Harris.Ê He married Gwendlyn Gould in Lansing on November 14, 1959. Because of Dick's love for Christ and His church, his main involvements have been serving through the local church, De Colores, and attendance at several Promise Keepers gatherings.Ê Dick retired from Wayne Wire Cloth Products in 1995 after 21 years of service.Ê He was member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ.Ê Dick will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. He leaves his loving wife ofÊ 48 years, Gwen; his children, Robin (Norman) Smith of Severn, Md., Scott Harris of Kalispell, Mont., and Jan (Rob) Barnard of Kalkaska; grandchildren, Evan Smith, Hannah Barnard, Emily Barnard, and Nathan Barnard; siblings, Roger (Linda) Harris of Kalkaska, Colleen (Michael) Dankenbring of Kalkaska, and Vickie Lewis of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews. A homegoing memorial celebration will be held in the springtime, to be announced at a later date.
