Gloria married William I. Parsons on April 27, 1929, in Detroit. Together they moved to Kalkaska from Detroit after Bill retired. Gloria was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed taking care of her family. She liked the simple life, living in "northern Michigan," working newspaper puzzles, watching game shows on television, working in her garden and golfing. She also enjoyed attending church when she was able to go.

Gloria is survived by her loving sons, William D.(Betty) Parsons of Kalkaska and Charles (Patricia) Parsons of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1999; her daughter Muriel Jean Parsons in 1990; and her eight sisters and three brothers.

The funeral service was held on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. Elder Lacey D. Stephan, Jr. officiated from the Community of Christ Church in Grayling. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona. Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home.
