Obituaries PUBLISHED: She was born August 27, 1914, to the late William and Mertie (Card) Kimball in Wells, Maine. Thelma married Everett "Dude" Johnson on September 13, 1946, in South Boardman. Together they raised two wonderful daughters. Thelma was a member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary Post #8684. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and gardening. Thelma was an avid reader and also loved bird watching. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. Thelma will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Surviving Thelma are her devoted daughters, Julie A. (David) Bliss of Traverse City and Joanne L. (David) Sims of Ortonville; her wonderful grandchildren, Charlotte, Chandra, Arlo, and Jessica; and her precious great-grandchildren, Austin, Corey, Morgan, Nicole, Landon, and Kyndall. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Everett "Dude" Johnson. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Funeral services were on Wednesday, with Dan Johnson of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. There was a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral service.
