Mrs. Button was born April 13, 1918, in Bangor, Maine, to the late John and Elsie Marden Ellis. She was a retired registered nurse.

Surviving are her daughter, Carol Cockram of Eden, N.C., and Canton, Mich.; sons, Ellis (Joyce) Broadus of Stoneville, N.C., and Thomas Broadus of Orange Park, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 11 greatgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kemper Broadus, and her second husband, Royce Button. The family received friends Friday, Jan. 12 at the Church of the Epiphany in Eden, N.C. A memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later date.
