Frank Matwyuk



Frank Matwyuk, 79, of Curtisville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 08, 2007, at his daughterĠs home in Kalkaska. He was born on Aug. 17, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Egnatz F. and Marja (Kolodziej) Matwyuk.

Frank married Shirley Mae Yacks on Feb. 14, 1948, in Detroit. Frank was the past owner of the Curtisville Market in Curtisville. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Frank is survived by his wife, Shirley of 58 years; his children, Georgie (Len) Simkins of Kalkaska, Jeanette (William) Stoyak of Canton Twp., Frank Matwyuk of Henderson, Nev., Michael ( Carolyn) Matwyuk of Alpena, Mary (Robert) Steiner of Saginaw; sister, Mary L. Smith of Jefferson City, Mo.; brother, Steve (Ethel) Matwyuk of Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Julia and Anna; and his brother, Adam.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 11, from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the Wolfe-OĠNeill Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The funeral will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Tim Severance from the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit.
