Obituaries PUBLISHED: Dixie was born on September 7, 1941, in Traverse City, the daughter of the late Raymond and Emma (Oleson) Lewis. On August 20, 1960, she married Raymond E. Short in Kalkaska. Surviving Dixie is her beloved husband, Ray of 46 years; her daughters, Sandy (Dave) Hoxsie of Williamsburg, Diane (Jamie) Dupuie, Kathy (Tom) Birgy; and son, Douglas (Denise) Short all of Kalkaska; grandchildren, Troy (Ann) Jenkins, Morgan and Casey Dupuie, Brittney and Shania Short, Thad and Alyssa Birgy; and great-grandson, Matthew Jenkins; her sisters, Betty (Bob) Dunham, Evelyn (Ron) Bishop; brothers, Del (Lucille) Lewis and Sam (Mary Lee) Lewis all of Kalkaska. Dixie worked many years at Holiday Drugs of Kalkaska and Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, LTC. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson. A private family service was held per DixieĠs wishes. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery.
